Extra Curricular - Debating Society (Lower School)

Description of Activity

Weekly debating society which meets to discuss topical issues

Length of Activity

30 minutes on average

Age Group

Years 7 – 9 but all are welcome!

What kind of girl would enjoy this?

Any girl with an opinion she wishes to share with others

Any previous knowledge/experience required?

No – All ‘training’ done over course of first few debates

What skills or attributes does the activity help to promote?

Thinking skills, oratory, independent contributions to groups, confidence, mutual respect.
