InfantsYears 1 and 2 (Vincent House) - For girls aged 4 to 6 years Girls enter Vincent House the September after their fourth birthday, following an assessment by Vincent House staff and the Head Mistress of the Junior School.Vincent House has a two-form entry with girls in classes of 15+. Each class has a form teacher and classroom assistant. The classrooms in Vincent House, a beautiful Edwardian building, have been designed to meet the needs of the age group. Each classroom has its own cloakroom and a designated area that fully caters for practical activities. The classrooms are bright, with displays reflecting current themes. Vincent Hall is multi-purpose and used amongst other activities for assemblies, Drama and P.E. Vincent House also has a well- stocked library. The girls enjoy a broad-based curriculum that incorporates the Literacy and Numeracy Strategies, Curriculum 2000 and much more. P.E., Music, Ballet, Art and Drama all feature in the weekly timetable giving the girls many opportunities to develop their talents. Each class has access to computer facilities and from September 2003 will be able to use the new computer suite in their library as well as networked computers in each classroom. Girls in Year 2 may take extra-curricular group violin, 'cello, piano, ballet and chess. Girls in Year 1 can Join Chess Club from January.
