Welcome to the Sixth Form

Being a Sixth Form student at Northwood College is a very exciting and important time for our girls. It's a very different stage in their educational career as they begin the transformation from school girl to Higher Education student.

Academically, students will find that working at Advanced Level will offer increasing rewards and stimulation. Students will be expected to take much more responsibility for organising their own work, for example: planning schedules to ensure that all deadlines are met, learning how to judge the depth of background reading necessary to complete a well informed and well argued essay and developing communication skills so that they can take a full part in class discussions.

The Sixth Form is very different to the rest of the school. It is where students learn to be confident enough to take risks, to be tolerant enough to listen to new ideas and to maintain a healthy balance between senior study, extra-curricular activities and service to the community.
