Geography is taught in two dedicated classrooms, both of which
are equipped with interactive whiteboards.

Our aim is to encourage an interest in and understanding of our
surroundings on a local, national and global scale.

All topics include elements of Thinking Skills, Geographical
Skills and topic content.

Fieldwork is an integral part of learning and pupils will take
part in several trips during their studies.

In Year 7, topics studied are: Atlas Skills, Map Reading Skills,
Weather and Climate and River Systems.

All Year 7 pupils take part in a field trip to Epping Forest
to study rivers.

In Year 8, topics covered include: Shops and Services, Industry,
Ecosystems and Environmental Issues.

All Year 8 pupils visit Amersham Field Centre to study Woodland
Ecosystems.

In Year 9, topics covered include: The USA and Development Issues
such as Trade, Aid and Health Issues.

The GCSE course is AQA Syllabus A.

In Year 10 we cover Geographical skills, Tectonic activity, weather
and climate, rivers, coasts and settlement.

The students attend a residential field trip at Juniper Hall
and use these skills to complete a piece of coursework.

In Year 11, girls study Population, Migration and Farming.

We follow the Edexcel A syllabus for AS and A2 Level.

This involves the study of separate Physical and Human topics
including Earth Systems, Fluvial Environments, Coasts, Population,
Settlement and Migration at AS.

Pupils attend a residential fieldwork course in Yorkshire to
complete coursework.
