Senior School - Physical Education Department
FACILITIES
-
Excellent sports facilities include an indoor 25m Swimming Pool,
Sports Hall, 3 Netball/Tennis courts, Hockey Pitch and Fitness
Suite.
CURRICULUM
-
In Junior School, Reception – Year 3, have Ball Skills,
Swimming and Gymnastics in the Autumn and Spring Terms. In Years
4 – 6, Netball/Hockey, Gymnastics/Dance and Swimming are
taught in the first two terms. In the Summer Term, Athletics take
the place of Gymnastics/Dance.

In Senior School, in Years 7 – 9, Netball, Hockey, Football,
Gymnastics, Dance, Swimming are delivered in the Autumn and Spring
Term and Athletics, Tennis and Rounders are taught in the Summer
Term

Year 10 and 11 girls are offered a greater variety and may participate
in activities such as Dance, Golf and Self Defence.

GCSE, AS and A2 Physical Education are offered to all pupils.
In 2005, 100% pass rate at A – A* was achieved at GCSE. 100%
achieved A – B at AS/A2.
EXTRA CURRICULAR
-
All the major sports have teams and compete against local opposition
in mid-week and weekend fixtures.

Recreational Clubs take place at lunchtimes giving girls the opportunity
to participate in alternative activities such as Trampolining,
Badminton and Volleyball.

Inter-Form and Inter-House Competitions take place on a regular
basis.
